Merry ChristmASS!!

christmas_01

I got a lot of great kids stuff at the Paul Frank Warehouse Sale a couple of weeks ago. I always get a lot of stuff for LuLu and I also like to get clothes for my sister’s kids. So, I put together this package of stuff for my sister and her husband and their kids Noah and Hayden. I threw in some Franco gear for Chris (my sister’s husband) and I think I sent my sister Josie a T-shirt (??) or, I don’t know what I sent her, but I got her kids A LOT of stuff so, Merry Christmas!

I threw all of the stuff into a box and then decided to top it off with a last minute holiday greeting cobbled together from some office supplies laying around the warehouse.

Happy HOLE-idays Everyone! Merry ChristmASS!

Did Not Finish! Lightning Bolts Art Show!

I was one of 25 “contemporary artists” selected to be in a group show that will open tomorrow night in Los Angeles.  Each of the artists were sent a blank BMX number plate, modeled after BMX legend Bob Haro’s iconic plate, and asked to create an original work of art that would be auctioned online.  The show is to benefit the Athlete Recovery Fund, which supports severely injured action sport athletes.

Change for the Better!

It’s kind of funny blogging for no one. Yet that is precisely what I will be doing for the next couple of weeks or so as I make the transition from being at Franco to officially “going GOST.” It is just as well I suppose. It has been a long time since I have posted regularly for Franco Shade anyway. Joe has pretty much taken that back over. I must say that one of the things that I find attractive about going GOST is that I will be able to blog more often and I won’t have to worry so much anymore about whether or not what I am writing will be appropriate for the company.

Going GOST!

outta_here_01

I am writing this to send it to the future…because no one can read it now.

Two days ago (from where I am sitting, here in the past), on December 3rd, 2008, Joe Navran and I went to lunch together and decided that it was in everyone’s best interest if he and I split ways. Joe wanted to continue on with Franco Shade, but take it in a new direction graphically (to be fair, he was really just steering it back more toward the original direction) and I would venture off to embark on a new project.

Franky Tattoo! And the History of Franky!

Kris Troyer from Rochester, NY sent in these photos of the new tattoo he got on the back of his calf.  We’ve seen a lot of tattoos of the Ghost and Knives Logo, but this is the first time we have seen anyone get a tattoo of our little cartoon ghost, Franky.
