Tit for Tat for RAMDAC!

rawls_03

Rawlinson is coming back tomorrow morning for yet another tour of duty at the GOST offices.  He has been putting in a LOT of work here (and a lot of Nigabits).  In the real world this would be costing us a fortune.  Rawlinson is not just some World-of-Warcraft-playing-teenager that takes computers apart on the weekends, this guy gets paid good money for what he does.

Cats!

cats_01

Jess has two cats that for some reason just LOVE my workspace.  It’s not like there aren’t plenty of other places for these cats to waste their days away.  Our GOST offices are in a loft in Downtown Santa Ana.  It is a live/work space, so our offices are located downstairs and upstairs is where Jess watches Benny Hill and then farts himself to sleep.

fakeRICH!

paul_arlo_01

Mykal and Paul from FakeRICH came by the new GOST offices to film an interview for the new and improved FakeRICH website.  FakeRICH covers the LA/OC music and cultural scene and is a daily must if you want to stay in the know (and entertained).  The GOST interview will be up shortly, but in the meantime check out the FakeRICH blog to see some behind-the-scenes coverage.  The photo above was shot by Mykal Sabounchi for FakeRICH.

Yoga!

jess_keller_02

My ex-wife moved from LA to Orange County recently.  In LA she worked in the entertainment industry as an actress and she also practiced real estate.  But her real passion for the past several years has been yoga.  In this same time Jess has been training extensively in massage therapy and was even named Orange County’s Best Massage Therapist for 2008 by The OC Weekly!

Photo Upgrade! Introducing Jess D!

jess_camera_01

Here I am complaining about my hardships as a blog photographer trying to scrape by with a busted iPhone for a camera when I look over at Jess’s desk and see his fancy-pants Canon “Super-Erection 5000″ (or whatever it’s called) just sitting on his desk and I’m like WTF??

What’s a Photo Worth?

oops_01

Yikes! So, this sucks.

I was visiting with my cousin last week in LA.  He was going on and on about his new Blackberry.  It reminded me of the old days when people used to try to argue the merits of the PC over the Mac or how I imagine it must have sounded when the proponents of the Jim Crow laws tried to argue in favor of segregation.  Some people just can’t help but end up on the wrong side of history.

The Johnniest Nigga!

skater_01

A long time ago (like over ten years!) some friends and I started a skating magazine called Skater.  We fancied ourselves Agent Provacateurs and thrilled at the prospect of creating an entire publication without any restrictions.  For our very first cover, for the Premiere Issue, instead of going with a skate shot we decided to use a headshot, the idea being that the magazine was going to focus on personalities. There have been few personalities in the history of rollerblading that were as big as Rawlinson Rivera’s so he was an easy choice for our first cover.  Some of you might even remember Rawlinson from his infamous appearance on the Franco blog.

GOST Boarding!

arlo_ladder_01

Uggghh!! I didn’t get to blog at all yesterday and it made me feel so incomplete.  We have been setting up the new GOST offices in Downtown Santa Ana and not everything has been going (exactly) according to schedule.  In particular, we have been having network issues, so I didn’t have internet access for a whole day!

For the Hungry!

Michael from Orisue hosted a little get together last night, in part to celebrate his 25th birthday (Happy Birthday Michael!), but also to shoot Orisue’s new Fall 09 collection.  I peeked at some of the stuff and must say I was very impressed.  Orisue is one of the great streetwear success stories of Orange County.  In just a few short years Michael and Allen and the whole Orisue Crew have built the brand into a major player on the national stage.
