Way back at the height of rollerblading’s popularity in the mid to late 90s when Senate was in its heyday and we were all dating strippers, driving fast cars and styling our designer haircuts with the best mousse money could buy Randy “Roadhouse” Spizer was the face of the sport. Randy and I spent a lot of time together as skaters traveling for contests and demos. These days I spend much more time moussing my hair than skating (still using the best mousse money can buy!), but Randy and I have remained pretty close. We both live in Orange County and we worked together for a while at Paul Frank along with Sayer Danforth and Dan Jensen (of Scribe Industries!).

Tonight there will be another installment of the “BLOQ Party” at Koji’s in The Block. G-MO went to the last one and came back with a VERY positive review. If you missed the last BLOQ Party now is your chance to take advantage of great food and great drink specials (like $1 Large Sake!). Head out to the Block tonight for good atmosphere, good music and an overall great time!

In an earlier post I previewed a new graphic, “Still Smokin” that will be coming out very soon with our Spring/Summer release. In the photo above you can see the “Still Smokin” graphic alongside a graphic done by Frank Kozik that was released by Kid Robot at least a year ago.
The Closet, for those of you that don’t know, is a very cool boutique store based in Southern, CA that specializes in “California Couture.” They have four locations, of which the Costa Mesa store is their flagship. The Closet recently put on an art show at their flagship location that featured all female artists called, “Femme de la Closet.” A handful of artists were selected, including my girlfriend, Nicole (Nikki).
It takes a lot to rouse me from the comforts of my domestic doldrums these days. My motivation, like my ass, gets enveloped by the cushy confines of my plush leather couch as I resign to another episode of Project Runway or Lost. But, last week G-MO tempted me (texted me) with about the only thing that could have stirred me from my stupor. “Die Antwoord at Cinespace tonight!” he wrote.
GOST will have a booth at the Urban Arts Fest taking place this week at the UCI campus. The festival begins tomorrow (Wednesday) and will continue through to Friday. The event will feature live music, live art, dance crews and many of your favorite brands selling merchandise right on site. The event starts at 10AM everyday and goes all day!
See you there!

When I was with Franco Shade, The Attic in Buena Park was one of our favorite accounts. The Attic is one of the biggest and most influential streetwear stores in Southern California. They have all of the essential sneaker accounts, including Nike, alife and Creative Recreation as well as a diverse mix of streetwear brands that goes well beyond the Crooks and 10 Deep standards.
It’s official! Fans of flag-football and warm toilet seats can rejoice! “Buddy Dumps” made it into the Urban Dictionary! Please make sure you stop by urbandictionary.com to give, “buddy dumps” your “thumbs up” seal of approval.
