Sometimes I take on ridiculous projects against my better judgment. Sonny and his manager Nathanael called me last week to ask if I could have a T-shirt done by this week. Not a T-shirt graphic mind you, which would be a tough turn-around by itself, but a printed, delivered T-shirt that would be ready to sell by this Wednesday! In less than one week??!!
This was pure madness! But I really love Sonny’s music and both Sonny and Nathanael are pretty good guys (that whole Pomona Fair fiasco notwithstanding), so I took on the project. I skipped a date with my girlfriend on Sunday to stay home and sketch out the design and I asked G-MO and Michael not to come in today so I could just put my nose down and try to crank out the graphic without any distractions.
Last Friday I arranged for blank T-shirts to be dropped off at the printer and tonight I sent off the completed graphic.
With a little luck Sonny (aka “Skrillex”) might actually have some brand new merch to sell this Wednesday at the new monthly event at the Glass House called “Electric Summer.”
And I might finally get to take my girlfriend on a date.
