GOST

The Closet, for those of you that don’t know, is a very cool boutique store based in Southern, CA that specializes in “California Couture.”  They have four locations, of which the Costa Mesa store is their flagship.  The Closet recently put on an art show at their flagship location that featured all female artists called, “Femme de la Closet.”  A handful of artists were selected, including my girlfriend, Nicole (Nikki).

In the months (weeks) leading up to the show Nikki worked hard to produce three striking new oil paintings, using her friends as models.  In the photo above Nikki is standing with her best friend, Kristine who was the model in the two portraits pictured.

The third portrait in the set was of Nikki’s close friend Chris, pictured here alongside her portrait.

The opening reception was held on March 14th.  There was live music, an open bar and dozens of OC’s hippest denizens moving and shaking.  Completely unexpectedly, I ran into “The Bulldog,” Brandon Campbell.

It turns out Brandon works next door to The Closet at Hawleywood’s Barber Shop.

I couldn’t wait to get home and order my “B Cam” tee designed by Jeremy Beightol from our good friends at Intuition Skate Shop.

My girlfriend is smart, beautiful, compassionate AND incredibly talented on top of all of that??  Some people might be tempted to complain that she is too lucky to have been so blessed in so many areas, but if anyone is guilty of being spoiled it is me.  I get to call Nikki my girlfriend and that makes me feel like the luckiest man alive!

Femme de la Closet is still hanging, but it won’t be for long, so don’t hesitate to make a trip out to the Closet to see it while you can.
