Rawlinson is coming back tomorrow morning for yet another tour of duty at the GOST offices. He has been putting in a LOT of work here (and a lot of Nigabits). In the real world this would be costing us a fortune. Rawlinson is not just some World-of-Warcraft-playing-teenager that takes computers apart on the weekends, this guy gets paid good money for what he does.
Rawlinson has written books. Like, SERIOUS books. His books are SO serious, in fact, that they don’t even have titles, just initials!
And he is hooking us up FOR FREE!
Well, kind of.
Last time Rawlinson was here I gave him a framed art print and Jess gave him a heterosexual male-on-male massage.
And the whole time that Rawlinson has been working on our network and IT issues, I have been working on creating custom art for “Punching Clouds,” his new blog about virtual software (one of his areas of expertise).
So we are doing things the way the early pioneers did it and the way the Smurfs did it, by trading. It just goes to show you how valuable friends can be, especially in these lean times.
The next time you are out skating with a loud, young Dominican with over-sized knee pads and an over-sized moustache, you would be wise to think twice before opening your mouth to laugh at him, one day he could turn into the dude who is going to save your ass.
