Last week I painted a mural for the “Art Park” at Woodward West. Woodward West is part of the Woodward family of skateparks that are known the world over for providing the best, most state-of-the-art training facilities for action sport athletes and gymnasts. Woodward almost single-handedly revolutionized action sports, and certainly helped to make them ready for prime-time, by introducing training techniques familiar to gymnasts, but previously unknown to action sports. Foam pits and resi-pads opened up a whole new world of acrobatic tricks to skateboarders, rollerbladers and bmxers that, before Woodward, would have been too dangerous to attempt.

The wildly popular kid’s show, Yo Gabba Gabba!, is having a “design your own T-shirt” contest.
My good friend Chris Mitchell just had his first book published. The book is called “Cast Member Confidential” and it is a memoir of the year Chris spent in Orlando working at Disney World. The book is garnering some attention (and controversy) because it lifts the veil on the otherwise unknown (and presumably unflattering) behind-the-scenes culture of the Disney World staff (or as they are known in the parlance of Disney speak, “cast members”). Tales of cast members doing drugs and having sex on property has apparently got the Disney community up in arms.

Nikki’s mom invited us to the LA County Fair over the weekend.

My girlfriend, Nikki, and I went to Austin, Texas over the weekend. I’d long heard that Austin was the “self-proclaimed live music capital of the world,” and from the moment we stepped off the airplane Austin did everything it could to prove it. There was a guy with a guitar playing live music right next to the gate when we arrived and everywhere you turned there was another reference to or celebration of live music.

Sometimes I take on ridiculous projects against my better judgment. Sonny and his manager Nathanael called me last week to ask if I could have a T-shirt done by this week. Not a T-shirt graphic mind you, which would be a tough turn-around by itself, but a printed, delivered T-shirt that would be ready to sell by this Wednesday! In less than one week??!!

For the first time (ever, I think) neither Nikki nor I had any kids this weekend. I’m working on a T-shirt collaboration for Sonny Moore, so on Saturday Nikki and I drove out to the Pomona Fairgrounds to see Sonny play. After over an hour of driving from gate to gate chasing down phantom tickets and arguing with unsympathetic security guards I finally decided to throw in the towel and we left. Clearly it just wasn’t meant to be.

The boys over at Orisue had a big BBQ over the weekend.

Today turned out to be a pretty sexy day around the GOST Offices! The days have been gradually getting sexier around here, what with the addition of the Ab Roller™ and the Perfect Push-Ups™, but even so, today still shaped up to be especially sexy.

I was up late last night watching TV. I’d already put my daughter to bed, so I wasn’t watching the Disney Channel anymore (thank god). I actually don’t mind the Disney Channel SO much, but for some weird fucked up reason we left the Disney Channel on ALL day yesterday and so we literally saw like every show at least twice. And not just every show, but every episode of every show!
